Namsan Seoul Tower Hanbok Culture Experience Center

서울특별시 용산구 남산공원길 105 (용산동2가)

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Located on the lobby floor (B1) of Namsan Seoul Tower, a landmark of Seoul, the Namsan Seoul Tower Hanbok Culture Experience Center features photo zones themed around representative spaces of the Joseon Dynasty and offers a variety of hanbok designs and colors categorized by theme (traditional, modified, wedding, etc.). In particular, the representative photo zones within the experience center have been modeled after the royal throne of Geunjeongjeon Hall at Gyeongbokgung Palace, the queen's room at Gyotaejeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the sarangbang (men's quarters) of a hanok. This is because the center aims to introduce the value of Korean traditional aesthetics to diverse people both domestically and internationally by allowing them to experience and empathize with the lives of Joseon Dynasty people, including kings, queens, and nobles, through the medium of photography along with hanbok. Additionally, it enables visitors to indirectly experience set spaces from traditional Korean historical films in the filmography of art director Oh Heung-seok, such as the royal throne from <Masquerade> and the princess's room from <The Princess and the Matchmaker>. Furthermore, professional staff including hanbok designers and photographers conduct hanbok experiences as well as wedding experiences and commemorative photography that offer a modern reinterpretation of Korean wedding ceremonies.
Address: 105 Namsan Park-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul (Yongsan-dong 2-ga)
