Birthplace of President Roh Tae-woo

The birthplace of President Roh Tae-woo is located at the foot of Palgongsan Mountain in Sinyong-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu. The name Sinyong-dong was given because there is a pond where a sacred dragon ascended to heaven. In Yongjin Village, located in Sinyong-dong, you can find the birthplace of President Roh Tae-woo. It is said to be a propitious site situated on the 'dragon's head,' and the humble remains of the main house, guest house, and barn are preserved, serving as a living history education site. Yongjin Village is also a clan village of the Gyoha Roh family. In spring, the area around the village is covered in full bloom of peach blossoms, creating a spectacular view.
