Why travelers stop here
Gangjin is the place of exile for the scholar Jeong Yak-yong (Dasan), and this journey allows you to fully encounter his traces. Starting from Dasan Chodang, where Dasan stayed and compiled his Silhak (Practical Learning), the path to Baengnyeonsa Temple, which Dasan took to meet the monk Hyejang, along with the camellia forest and the road to Baengnyeonsa Temple, is a popular course for travelers. Passing through Sauijae in Gangjin town, the route continues to the Gangjin Celadon Kiln Site and Maryang Port, renowned as a beautiful harbor. This is a scenic sea pilgrimage path along Gangjin Bay, accompanied by the traces of Dasan.
