Daegaya History Theme Park

This tourist attraction is themed around the history of Daegaya, which was the capital of the Gaya confederacy and where Korea's first pottery, ironware, and gayageum culture flourished brilliantly. It offers attractions such as a 4D video theater, an exhibition hall for artifacts and the mysterious land of Daegaya, and a forest trail for exploring Daegaya, allowing visitors to see, feel, and experience ancient culture through cutting-edge facilities. Gaya was a confederation that existed from around the beginning of the Common Era until 562, when Daegaya was absorbed by Silla. Based on its advanced iron culture, it pursued independent foreign exchanges and left behind outstanding cultural heritage such as the gayageum. With growing interest in Gaya recently, active research is being conducted on the historical perspective of the 'Four Kingdoms Period,' which includes Gaya, rather than the 'Three Kingdoms Period' of Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla. Goryeong County belonged to the Gaya cultural sphere, and as the central capital of Daegaya, many artifacts and relics from the Gaya period have been excavated. As the capital of Daegaya, it played a central and pivotal role in Gaya culture. Furthermore, to facilitate Gaya cultural festival exchanges, enhance academic and historical value, reorganize the Gaya cultural sphere, and restore and disseminate Gaya culture, the 'Daegaya Historical Theme Park' was established in Goryeong County, the central capital of Daegaya.
