Why travelers stop here
Mulchi Village is located at the entrance to Seoraksan Mountain in Mulchi-ri, and is a popular destination for travelers visiting Seoraksan during the autumn foliage season or for summer vacationers. Surrounded by a port and beach, Mulchi Village offers many restaurants and various experiential activities such as Mulchi Port fishing boat experiences and the Sandfish Festival, attracting many tourists. Additionally, there are cafes where visitors can take beautiful photos with the East Sea and Seoraksan Mountain in the background, accommodations offering views of the sunrise over the East Sea and Seoraksan Mountain, and especially guesthouses and various lodging facilities where guests can enjoy the sunrise from their bedrooms. Nearby, Mulchi Port features two long breakwater walking paths, at the ends of which stand a white lighthouse shaped like a pine mushroom (a representative specialty of Yangyang) and a red lighthouse, showcasing the port's unique scenery. It is particularly famous as a sunrise spot, where the morning sun rising between the two lighthouses creates a spectacular view. Visitors can also enjoy fresh live fish caught in the clean waters of the East Sea at low prices while taking in the beautiful sea views. Around Mulchi Port, there are cafes, a raw fish center, and a sunrise park, making it a frequented destination for tourists.
