Pheasants, turtledoves, and many other game birds inhabit the vast grasslands at the foot of Hallasan, making the entire Jeju Island an optimal hunting ground. In particular, the pheasants native to Jeju are more beautifully colored than those from other regions, earning the love of foreign hunters. The Daeyu Hunting Ground, covering approximately 1.2 million pyeong, operates year-round. The main game bird available here is the pheasant, and anyone can enjoy unlimited hunting at any time by paying a set hunting fee. This hunting ground includes a pheasant breeding farm of about 800 pyeong, a clubhouse, and an outdoor shooting range. Together with the Jungmun Tourist Complex, located 8 km away, it forms a major tourism zone.
