Demisaem Natural Recreation Forest

Managed by the Jeollabuk-do Forest Environment Research Institute, Demisaem Natural Recreation Forest is located below the peak called Cheonsangdemi (1,080m), east of Demisaem, the source of the Seomjin River. Covering an area of approximately 2㎢, the recreation forest features facilities such as forest houses, a recreation center, a water playground, and a forest culture plaza, as well as attractions like a wildflower garden and a natural waterfall. Within the recreation forest, Seongaksan Mountain preserves 301 species of plants across 81 families and 195 genera, including a royal azalea colony at the summit, a layer dogwood colony in the high-altitude wetland area, and a Mongolian oak colony stretching from Cheonsangdemi to Ogyechi. In addition to offering views of Waryong Recreation Forest, Satgatbong Peak, and Palgongsan Mountain, hiking trails extend over 12km. Demisaem Natural Recreation Forest operates pet-friendly rooms to minimize travel inconveniences.
