Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Located about 6 km from Samcheok city center, this beach sits between Sangmaengbang Beach and Maengbang Beach, with the sandy shores connected so the boundary is not distinct. The average water depth is a shallow 1–2 meters, and it boasts a clean white sandy beach and a lush pine forest. A long row of homestay villages stretches through the nearby pine forest, making it easy to find accommodation, a characteristic feature of the beach. The sand filling the beach is clean and of good quality, making it great for children to play on. Freshwater meets the seawater under Yeonbong Bridge, where many clams thrive, and the clear water allows for easy clam picking. The endless white sand stretching from Sangmaengbang to Hamaengbang to Maengbang creates a spectacular view. Parking is available on the shoulders along both sides of the beach road. Nearby attractions include Maengbang Beach Forest Bathing Area and Deokbongsan Observatory, where visitors can enjoy a relaxing stroll through Samcheok's forests and mountains.
