Sibiseonnyeotang (Tangsudong Valley)

Sibiseonnyeotang is a valley located in Yongdae-ri, Buk-myeon, Inje-gun, Gangwon-do, next to Baekdam Valley. It is one of the Eight Scenic Views of Inje, and it is called Seonnyeotang (Fairy Bath) due to the legend that fairies descended from the sky to Seoraksan Mountain every night and bathed in Sibiseonnyeotang. It has been called Sibiseonnyeotang because it was traditionally said to have a total of 12 baths, but in reality, there are 8 baths in total. Among the 8 baths, Boksungatang (Peach Bath), which has a deep hole shaped like a peach, is considered the most beautiful bath. It is a great place to enjoy a round-trip valley trekking of about 8.4 km to Yongtang Falls, also known as Boksungatang. Along the way, there are large trees such as maple, fir, birch, and pine, offering beautiful scenery, and the area around the valley is entirely rocky, creating diverse valley landscapes depending on the shapes of the rocks. Sibiseonnyeotang consists of a series of waterfalls and baths, with the baths forming fascinating shapes such as concave or wide and deep holes in bedrock due to long-term riverbed erosion over countless years. The Sibiseonnyeotang valley shows different appearances each season, with the red maple forest in autumn being the highlight.
