Dongnakwon

Dongnakwon is located in an alley next to a 600-year-old large ginkgo tree in Jeonju Hanok Village. This hanok, formerly used as a Bank of Korea residence, was renovated by Kijeon University and opened under the name Dongnakwon to serve as a hanok experience center for the public. Dongnakwon is a hanok hotel offering accommodation, garden rental, an open-air foot bath café, and sunbed and picnic table rentals. Branch 1 and Branch 2 are a 4-minute walk apart. Accommodations include 4 Haengnangchae rooms, 3 Sarangchae rooms, 2 Anchae rooms, 2 Byeoldangchae rooms, and Hanok Rooms 1 through 8. The facilities feature a private, unique forest relaxation space: an outdoor foot bath café. Upon entering Dongnakwon, a rectangular pond with swimming carp catches the eye. Passing between the Haengnangchae with small rooms and the Sarangchae adorned with jars, you reach the Anchae and a 200-pyeong yard. On the Sarangchae wall, tiles painted with wildflowers add a stylish touch. The 200-pyeong grassy yard features a deck with parasols, tables, and chairs. It is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the Dongnakwon yard after a meal in Jeonju Hanok Village. Small weddings or small parties are often held on the grassy yard. Between the Sarangchae jar garden and the grassy yard, a commemorative tree planted during a visit by former President Lee Myung-bak's wife, Kim Yoon-ok, stands. On the opposite side of the grassy yard, a commemorative tree planted during a visit by the late former President Kim Dae-jung is also a point of pride for Dongnakwon.
