Cheongna Hill originated from the early 20th century when Christian missionaries lived here and planted many ivy vines. It is also called Dongsan because it was located to the east of Dalseong Fortress when that fortress was the center of Daegu. This beautiful garden features houses where former missionaries lived, such as the Chamness House, Switz House, and Blair House, along with the 90 Steps, Daegu March 1st Independence Movement Road, Daegu's first Western apple tree, the monument to 'Dongmu Saenggak' (Korea's first art song), and Eunhye Garden, a cemetery for missionaries and their families.
