Dongho Seodang and Dongho Historic Park

1. Dongho Seodang

It originates from Dongho-sa (東湖祠), established in 1820 by the Confucian scholars (sallim) of Hayang-hyeon to honor the righteous army commander Myeonwa Hwang Gyeong-rim (勉窩 黃慶霖, 1566~1629). Dongho-sa was left neglected for several years due to the closure of seowon (Confucian academies) ordered by King Gojong of Joseon in 1872, and the main building was rebuilt in 1875. Later, in 1921, it was repaired and renamed as a seodang (village school), and it was expanded again in December 2013.
