Dongho Beach is a small beach located at 141-26 Dongho-ri, Sonyang-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, with a length of 500m and a width of 55m. It is a clean area with excellent sand quality, clear seawater, and beautiful scenery, making it a great place for those who want to enjoy a quiet summer vacation. In particular, the water is shallow, the sand is soft, and there are many clams, offering the fun of clam picking, attracting many vacationers every year.
Dongho Beach offers special activities: anchovy scooping and catching glass shrimp. Since 2002, Dongho Beach has been practicing traditional anchovy fishing, known as 'anchovy scooping,' and even outside the summer season, groups of 40 or more can make a reservation online or by phone to experience anchovy scooping at any time. Transparent small shrimp called glass shrimp are caught on the beach; they are so small and transparent that they cannot be seen with the naked eye. They can be caught using tools in the sandy areas of the beach.
