Duye Observatory

Duye Observatory is a sea observatory located on the 5th course of the Taean Coastal Trail, the Sunset Trail, offering the most beautiful views of the Taean sea along the trekking course. As the observatory is connected to the Sunset Trail, it provides not only stunning views but also enchanting sunsets, allowing visitors to enjoy even more captivating scenery.

Duye Beach was called Doyeora because it was a village where Taoist hermits practiced asceticism, thanks to its beautiful terrain and dense trees. The name Doyeora later transformed into Duye. Duye Beach features a unique topography where strata are bent into large wave-like folds due to massive tectonic movements, exposed along the beach. This harmonizes with the surrounding beautiful coastal scenery, making it a place of great academic and educational value.
