Dunjubong Peak

Dunjubong Peak is a peak on the mountain behind Yeonju-ri, Annam-myeon, and is the place where you can see the Korean Peninsula topography, which is the first scenic spot of Okcheon. Before reaching the summit of Dunjubong Peak (384m) through a lush forest hiking trail, the Korean Peninsula topography seen from the observatory (275m) is a spectacular view created by the meandering Geumgang River. The length of this topography is 1.45km, which is a 1/980 reduction of the actual Korean Peninsula, and although the east and west are reversed, it looks exactly like the Korean Peninsula when reflected in a mirror. It is a place where you cannot help but exclaim and feel an indescribable emotion the moment you face the scenery.

Park at the parking lot in front of the Annam-myeon Office and move to the front gate of Annam Elementary School, where the trail begins at the village entrance. The 1.4km to the ridge allows you to enjoy the peaceful mountain village atmosphere of Annam while walking. The distance from the trail entrance to the summit of Dunjubong Peak is just over 0.8km. From the trail entrance to the shelter, there is a 0.27km section, and the uphill section that starts after that is 0.07km. After passing this section, you can enjoy a leisurely walk without any more difficult uphill climbs, and the tranquility of walking on a quiet mountain path continues to the summit. The path to Dunjubong Peak is impressive with a pine forest filled with the scent of pine trees. It is a forest where evenly sized pine trees grow straight like bamboo, and walking along the charming path refreshes the mind.
