Deukryang Station Memory Street

Deukryang Station Memory Street, which recreates the appearance of a town in the 1970s and 1980s, began to be developed in 2011 as part of the Train Station Cultural Design Project promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It started operations in 1930 with the opening of the Gyeongjeon Line. The Gyeongjeon Line is a cross-country train on the southern coast of South Korea that connects Samnangjin Station in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do, to Songjeong Station in Gwangju. At the time of its opening, it transported cargo, but due to population decline and industrial development, its role gradually diminished, and now it handles passenger transport and shunting of trains between Deukryang and Boseong Stations. Shunting refers to operations such as separating, coupling, and changing tracks of vehicles.

Although Deukryang Station is now closed, it features retro item displays and a photo zone where visitors can experience wearing railway staff uniforms. It also includes a barbershop that has been in business for over half a century, Haengun Dabang (a tea house) that opened in 1977, an old mill, and streets from the 1970s and 1980s such as Deukryang Elementary School, a comic book rental shop, and an arcade, providing new inspiration for older generations, younger people, and children.
