Jeonggam Village is a village located in Gangdong-myeon, Gangneung-si, where 513 households live across four villages: Mojeon 1-ri, Sangsidong 2-ri, and Eonbyeol 1-ri and 2-ri. It is famous for its delicious persimmons. Jeonggam Village offers a variety of rural experience programs, which are largely divided into farming experiences, craft experiences, and food experiences. Farming experiences include sowing seeds and planting vegetables in the spring, harvesting corn and potatoes in the summer, and harvesting peanuts, sweet potatoes, picking persimmons, making dried persimmons, and making gotgam (dried persimmon) in the fall. Craft experiences include persimmon dyeing, where fresh persimmons are picked before the seeds mature, ground, strained through a cotton cloth, and then washed and hung out at least three times; making chochungdo LED lamps, making pine storage boxes, making pine pencil holders, and making your own mug. Food experiences include making gotgam seolgi (steamed rice cake with dried persimmon), gotgam songpyeon (rice cakes with dried persimmon), making gotgam (dried persimmons), making gotgam glutinous rice gochujang (red chili paste), and making gotgam tarts.
