Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Dunnae Natural Recreation Forest is a privately-run recreation forest at the foot of Cheongtaesan Mountain, opened in May 1994. The water source originating from the 1,200m mountain peak flows across the southern part of the forest, and coniferous trees such as fir, along with 30-year-old planted Korean pine and larch, form a dense forest inhabited by various wildlife. Along the hiking trail, the observatory offers a panoramic view of the Yeongdong Expressway and Taegisan Mountain, and the trail is also suitable for mountain biking. Additionally, leisure activities such as orienteering and survival games are provided. The accommodation at Dunnae Natural Recreation Forest is the Irang Dunnae Pension, a cozy and comfortable villa-style townhouse rather than a modern luxurious one. With its spacious and clean interiors and independent healing spaces, visitors can escape the urban jungle of buildings and enjoy the most comfortable and relaxing rest in the coolness of nature.
