Chugok Mineral Spring

To reach Chugok Mineral Spring, famous for its water taste being different from other mineral springs, you must travel from Chuncheon toward Yanggu, or from Witsaembat in Chuncheon toward Cheonjeon-ri. Upon arriving at Chugok Mineral Spring, you will find an information board with a legend about discovering the spring after receiving a revelation from the mountain god, along with a brief introduction to the spring. Climbing a little further, the spring appears in Mineral Spring Valley, where a small stream flows along the mountain slope, divided into upper and lower baths. This is a mineral spring where you can enjoy the unique taste of licorice-flavored water. The legend of Chugok Mineral Spring tells that a man named Kim Won-bo discovered the spring after receiving a revelation from the mountain god of Samyeongsan in a dream. It contains aesthetic influencing substances such as iron, fluorine, manganese, and aluminum, and has a slight reddish tint.
