Mansandong Valley

Mansandong Valley is a valley located 5km northwest of Hwacheon-eup. The 100m high and 150m wide奇特 rocks harmonize with the valley, evoking a picturesque scene. Along with Biraeam (Flying Rock), there is a legend that immortals enjoyed bathing here. Biraeam is a奇特 rock formation at an altitude of 970m and is a representative scenic spot of Mt. Hwaaksan. The water of Mansandong Valley is clean and cool, and the valley is densely surrounded by natural forests of pine trees and cornelian cherries. Visitors can enjoy water play and fishing in the valley, and nearby is the Mansandong National Leisure Camping Site. There are hiking courses around Mansandong Valley linked to Baraebawi Rock: a course descending from Mansandong Valley to Biraeam to Galmok Valley, and a course ascending from Galmok Valley to Biraebawi Rock to Mansandong Valley. This valley has become known as a summer resort, attracting many tourists every year. Nearby attractions include Biraeam, the Wild Herb Village, and the Lee Oisoo Literature Museum, which can be visited together during a tour of Hwacheon.
