Myeongwolseongji

Myeongwoljinseong Fortress had a circumference of 3,020 cheok and a height of 8 cheok, with gates on the east, south, and west sides. Inside the fortress, there was a spring with abundant water, and buildings such as a guesthouse, a separate warehouse, and an armory once stood, but none remain today. Myeongwolpo is the place where, in 1270 (the 11th year of King Wonjong of Goryeo), Yi Mun-gyeong, a general of the Sambyeolcho, landed after suppressing the government forces dispatched from Goryeo and occupying Tamna. When Kim Bang-gyeong subjugated the Sambyeolcho, his vanguard also landed here. Moreover, in 1374 (the 23rd year of King Gongmin), when the Mongolian herders dispatched from Mongolia to manage the pastures revolted, General Choe Yeong landed at Myeongwolpo to suppress the rebellion.
