Moguri Oreum

Moguri Oreum is a parasitic volcano with an elevation of 232m, featuring a horseshoe-shaped crater that curves to the north. Inside the horseshoe slope, there is a small hill (Aloreum) that resembles a mother dog holding a puppy, hence the name Moguri, which is also called Moguak in Chinese characters. It has a unique structure with a small oreum (Aloreum) beside the mother oreum, and this Aloreum is referred to as Gae Dongsan (Jeotgeurindongsan). In May 2003, the Moguri Campground opened at the western foot of the oreum, equipped with a grass soccer field, a challenge training ground, and an inline skating rink, and a well-maintained walking trail runs along the ridge. One of the reasons to climb Moguri Oreum is the cypress forest path; the phytoncides from the cypress trees are effective in relieving stress, stabilizing the mind and body, and boosting immunity, allowing visitors to enjoy forest bathing and stroll through the cypress forest while experiencing the calming and refreshing air of Jeju.
