Mochungsa Shrine

Located in Sarabong Park, Geonip-dong, Jeju City, Mochungsa Shrine was built on January 11, 1977, with donations from 170,000 residents of Jeju Island and the mainland. It was named Mochungsa, meaning 'to admire the loyal hearts of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the fatherland during the Japanese colonial period.' The shrine features three tall towers. At the entrance, the Uibyeong Hangjaeng Memorial Tower stands in the center, with the Monument to Patriotic Martyr Jo Bong-ho on the left and the Memorial Tower of Kim Man-deok Hal-mang on the right. A beautifully maintained forest path allows visitors to view these towers. It is recommended as a walking course where local residents and tourists can reflect on Jeju's history and take a rest.
