Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Completed in 2012, Mokpo Bridge is a 4,129m long, 35-50m wide, four-lane round-trip road bridge connecting Mokpo North Port and Gohado Island. Its beautiful shape, resembling the wings of a crane in flight, combined with the sunset, creates a spectacular view. Mokpo Bridge is a motorway bridge on National Route No. 1 in Mokpo City, with Jukgyo-dong and Yudal-dong on the land side, connecting Gohado and Heosado. It serves as a gateway to Mokpo, linking the new outer port of Mokpo and the West Coast Expressway. The shape of the main towers and cables embodies two cranes, the city bird of Mokpo, soaring over the sea off Mokpo.
