Bada Hyanggi Arboretum

경기도 안산시 단원구 대부황금로 399 (선감동)

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Gyeonggi Province began the project in 2007 with a basic plan to create an arboretum using provincial forests, driven by the desire to preserve plant genetic resources and create an excellent forest recreation space on the west coast. Since then, steady efforts have been made to develop various infrastructure and theme gardens, and the arboretum officially opened in May 2019. Currently, the Bada Hyanggi Arboretum is home to about 1,000 species and over 300,000 plants, mainly from the central island and coastal regions of Korea. The total area is 300,000 pyeong (1,010,000㎡), and it features various distinctive theme gardens including the Sangsang Observatory offering views of the beautiful west coast scenery, the Bada Neoul Garden, Rock Garden, and Rose Garden, as well as recreational spaces such as the Lily Rest Area and a small performance hall. The Bada Hyanggi Arboretum continues to strive for the preservation of plant genetic resources and serves as a forest recreation space where visitors can experience the value of the natural environment.
