Baekjehyang

Located in Buyeo-eup, Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Baekjehyang originally operated as a specialty restaurant for lotus leaf rice but has since changed to a café selling lotus flower bread and traditional tea. It is situated on the way to Gungnamji. The signature menu item, Buyeo lotus flower bread, is a distinctive food shaped like a lotus flower, a symbol of Baekje culture. Not only is the shape that of a lotus flower, but the bread is made by combining lotus leaf powder, glutinous rice flour, and wheat flour with water boiled from lotus flowers and leaves grown organically by the owner. To capture the fragrance of the lotus flower in the bread, the petals are picked before they open, before 8 a.m., and stored frozen. In addition, various snacks made from lotus leaves, such as lotus leaf shakes and lotus leaf cookies, are also available.
