Seoul Fringe Festival

1998, starting as the 'Independent Arts Festival' in Daehangno, the Seoul Fringe Festival is an annual summer festival where theater, dance, music, performance, video, visual arts, multidisciplinary arts, and various artistic experiments that cannot be explained by a single genre come together. There is no screening of artists or selection of works. Believing that 'anyone can be an artist,' it opens opportunities for participation to everyone. Whether in a café, home, or theater, it supports and encourages expressing and attempting the stories one wants to tell, creating true artistic freedom through the courage to reveal oneself, experiments that cross genre boundaries, and a process of sharing responsibility and respect. This year, with the slogan 'A Summer of Diverse Attempts,' it plans to create a summer where all festival members, including not only artists but also audiences, try together in their own ways.
