Why travelers stop here
Gocheok Sky Dome is Korea's first domed baseball stadium, built in Gocheok-dong and completed in 2015. It operates as a multi-purpose complex featuring baseball games, large-scale performances, sports facilities, and cultural spaces. In 2017, it hosted the World Baseball Classic (WBC) for the first time in Korea, and as the home stadium of the professional baseball team Kiwoom Heroes, it has become a mecca for Korean baseball. The Gocheok Sky Dome consists of two basement floors and four above-ground floors, with a seating capacity of 16,783. Built as Korea's first domed baseball stadium to expand public sports facilities and provide cultural venues for various events, Gocheok Sky Dome is Korea's premier multi-purpose sports and cultural facility, allowing visitors to enjoy sports and cultural events regardless of weather conditions throughout all four seasons. Additionally, a pedestrian plaza where related events are held during various occasions and a baseball-themed street are connected to Gocheok Sky Dome. Other facilities include a swimming pool, gym, soccer field, basketball court, and Seoul Art Book Library.
