Chodae-gil is a newly created trail course in Gangbuk-gu, part of the second section of the Bukhansan Dulle-gil pilgrimage route. The total distance is 1.3 km, and it is neither very long nor difficult. This trail passes through the grave sites of figures who held inaugural positions in modern and contemporary Korean history, including Lee Jun (the first prosecutor), Shin Ik-hee (the first Speaker of the National Assembly), Kim Byung-ro (the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court), and Lee Si-yeong (the first Vice President). Chodae-gil starts at the Modern and Contemporary History Museum, which embodies the spirit of independence and the history of democracy of our ancestors, passes through the grave of Shin Ik-hee, an independence activist and the first Speaker of the National Assembly, then continues to the graves of Shin Ha-gyun (Shin Ik-hee's eldest son) and martyr Lee Jun, and finally ends at the grave of Lee Si-yeong, who, after the Japan-Korea Annexation, liquidated all his property with his brothers and moved to Manchuria to devote himself to the independence movement.
