Why travelers stop here
Bukaksan Skyway is a path connecting the ridge and foothills of Bukaksan Mountain surrounding the Blue House. It also connects to a walking trail created inside Bukaksan along the Bukak Skyway, a famous driving course. Thanks to the long-term restriction of civilian access, the pristine natural ecology has been well preserved. You can enjoy a peaceful and quiet hike with the mysterious energy felt in the deep forest. Bukaksan Skyway has a total of three courses.
Among them, Trail 2 passes through the former battlefield of the January 21 Incident, going from Haneul Bridge to the source of Seongbukcheon. This area was once off-limits to civilians due to the armed communist infiltration incident, but it has been reborn as a walking trail. While walking Trail 2, you can see the traces of bullets from the battle at Hoyungam, which was a fierce battleground during the January 21 Incident, and also see the source of Seongbukcheon, which has a pond inhabited by various organisms. Additionally, from Haneul Observatory, you can see the center of Seoul more widely than from any other mountain peak in the city.
