Why travelers stop here
Gungdong Reservoir Ecological Park was created to improve the poor environment of the former Gungdong Reservoir and to provide a rest area for residents of Guro-gu by establishing an eco-friendly space. It features an ecological trail, walking paths, a traditional Korean pavilion, rest facilities, and sports facilities, making it a great place for walks. Approximately 25,000 various flowers and trees are planted. There are also spaces for observing flora and fauna and a children's playground. In the ecological pond, about 100 koi fish swim in the reservoir, boasting a beautiful scenery and ecological environment rarely seen in Seoul. In spring, azaleas bloom; in summer, lotus flowers; in fall, reeds; and in winter, the frozen reservoir landscape makes the park beautiful all four seasons. Adjacent to this place is the tomb of Princess Jeongseon, so it is also good to visit together.
