Dalmasa Temple (Seoul)

Located on the mid-slope of Seodalsan Mountain, overlooking the Han River and Namsan Mountain across the river, this small temple offers a view of the flowing river during the day and the twinkling lights of Namsan at night. Known as a clear sanctuary in harmony with nature, from Seodalsan to Namsan, it is a traditional urban temple where one can straighten a weary and turbid mind amidst the rapidly changing city. In the early morning, it unites with local residents through the sound of dawn prayers, and it is a cozy temple that shares the time of endurance of a day with the sun. It is an open space in the greenery overlooking the Han River, imbued with the Buddha's teachings and the spirit of true practice, and though small, it is a space for local residents expanded with heart.
