Chosun Ilbo Newseum

Chosun Ilbo, founded in 1920, has opened the Newseum, a space that organizes the footsteps of over 100 years of Chosun Ilbo history at a glance and provides media experience education. It is a space that encompasses the concepts of News and Museum, consisting of the Media Experience Center on the second floor and the Chosun Ilbo History Museum on the third floor. The History Museum showcases the history of Chosun Ilbo through numerous artifacts and materials, including the inaugural issue. It serves as an educational venue for the development of Korean newspapers and a meaningful exhibition space that allows visitors to appreciate the many trials and developmental processes that Chosun Ilbo has overcome. Visitors can examine the history of newspapers, which fully capture the society of their times, and experience the process of becoming a benchmark for today's new media. The Media Experience Center is composed of sections such as Media Square, Journalist Training Room, AR-based Reporting Site, Broadcast Studio, VR News Center, and News Gallery, providing youth with the opportunity to experience the production process of newspapers and broadcasting through hands-on activities, thereby enhancing their understanding of media. The Chosun Ilbo Newseum is the first in Korea to feature a complex media experience center that integrates newspapers, broadcasting, VR stereoscopic images, and other cutting-edge information technologies.
