Garaesil Culture Village (Byeolbyeol Art Village)

Yeongcheon Garaesil Culture Village is known as 'Byeolbyeol Art Village.' The entire village is filled with murals and wonderful sculptures, giving the feeling of being in an outdoor art museum. In line with Yeongcheon's title as the 'City of Stars,' there are many works themed around stars.

Byeolbyeol Art Village was selected for the 2011 Village Art Project contest hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The Village Art Project is a project that discovers regional identity as cultural content, sublimates it into art, and promotes cultural enjoyment and regional revitalization. The 'Happiness Project - Sinmongyudowondo' created in Yeongcheon is a representative example. Spanning the areas of Gasang-ri, Hwasan-ri, and Gwihori in Hwasan-myeon, Yeongcheon-si, 45 diverse artworks have been installed throughout the village, transforming an ordinary area into a large-scale art village.
