Korea Furniture Museum

Located on a hill in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul, the Korea Furniture Museum is a specialized museum that displays traditional wooden furniture from the late Joseon Dynasty, categorized by material (persimmon wood, maple wood, paulownia wood, zelkova wood, pine wood, paper, etc.), type (men's quarters, women's quarters, kitchen, etc.), and regional characteristics. Along with ten traditional Korean houses, it comprehensively showcases Korea's traditional residential living culture, including interior decoration, flower walls, chimneys, and courtyards. The museum adopts a guided tour format (maximum of 20 people per group) suitable for displaying Korean housing culture harmonized with furniture and nature in its exhibitions and operations. It exhibits old household items like furniture outside glass display cases, in room-structured exhibition halls, providing visitors with a beautiful traditional cultural experience.

After being selected as the official luncheon venue for the spouses of the heads of state from 20 countries during the 2010 G20 Seoul Summit, it has continuously hosted dignitaries and global figures, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, the German President, the Hungarian Prime Minister, the Singaporean Prime Minister, the Belgian King and Queen, the Swedish King, the IMF Managing Director, actor Brad Pitt, and Victoria Beckham. It was also selected as 'Seoul's Most Beautiful Museum' by CNN in 2011, and in March of the most recent year, it became the interview location for the globally acclaimed BTS, establishing itself as a representative Seoul attraction and a favored cultural space for government ministries and corporations.
