Daejanggeum is a royal Korean cuisine restaurant that inherits the tradition of Joseon Dynasty royal court food and Korean flavors, presenting dishes reinterpreted with a modern sensibility. At Daejanggeum, they use sauces and kimchi made directly from domestically grown soybeans, homemade natural seasonings, and precious ingredients sourced from famous regions across the country to meticulously create the elegant tastes of the royal and noble families. Moreover, as a cultural space in modern times, you can appreciate the lotus painting work of Master Lee Jin-ho, a master of Najeonchilgi (mother-of-pearl lacquerware), a Korean cultural heritage, and the forged works of Cha In-gyu, a fifth-generation blacksmith, as well as the Ilwolobongdo (Sun, Moon, and Five Peaks painting) that once adorned the royal throne of the Joseon court.
