Why travelers stop here
Multtumbeong Specialized Food Street is a street specializing in anglerfish dishes located in Yonghyeon-dong, Michuhol-gu, Incheon, situated between Yonghyeon Intersection and Inha University. Designated as a specialty food street in 1999, it has become a representative local culinary landmark of Incheon. 'Multtumbeongi' is a local nickname for anglerfish in the Incheon area, said to originate from the sound made when fishermen used to throw anglerfish caught in their nets back into the sea. Anglerfish dishes, which began to be loved as commoners' food after the Korean War, developed into a representative local delicacy as specialty restaurants increased in the Yonghyeon-dong area in the 1970s. At Multtumbeong Specialized Food Street, you can enjoy various anglerfish dishes including anglerfish stew (agwi-jjim) and anglerfish soup (agwi-tang).
