Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Choji Bridge is an arch-shaped four-lane bridge connecting Chojiri, Gilsang-myeon, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon Metropolitan City and Yakam-ri, Daegeot-myeon, Gimpo-si. Construction began in 1996 in Incheon Metropolitan City and was completed in August 2002. The bridge is 1.2 km long with four round-trip lanes. As a land-bridge connecting an island to the mainland, a 900 mm water pipe and a 300 mm city gas pipe were installed on the bridge. With the opening of this bridge, travel time from western areas of the Seoul metropolitan area, such as Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Bucheon, and Gimpo-si, to Ganghwa Island was reduced by 30 minutes compared to using the existing Ganghwa Bridge. After crossing this bridge and turning right, there are many tourist attractions along the coastal road, including Deokjinjin, Manisan National Tourist Site, and the Hwado-myeon migratory bird sanctuary.
