Jiseonsa Temple

Jiseonsa Temple was originally located on the site of Baengnyongsa Temple, but was relocated and newly rebuilt at the foot of Gyeyangsan Mountain in April 1988. It is a temple belonging to the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, and due to its location close to the city center, it is widely known as a prayer sanctuary frequently visited by local residents and hikers. In the main hall of Jiseonsa Temple, 500 statues of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva are enshrined, so there is a constant stream of visitors who wish to offer Ksitigarbha prayers. This space provides deep comfort and merit to Buddhist believers, and is renowned as a place to control one's mind and pray in the temple's unique clean and solemn atmosphere. Additionally, in September 2022, a statue of the Medicine Buddha was newly erected on the temple grounds, becoming a great symbol of faith for many devotees seeking relief from illness and suffering. The foot of Gyeyangsan Mountain, where the temple is located, boasts beautiful natural scenery that harmonizes with the temple's serene atmosphere, and it is loved as a place where one can enjoy both meditation and relaxation. Thus, Jiseonsa Temple achieves a harmony of tradition and modernity, playing an important role as a spiritual refuge and practice space for urban residents.
