Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Sipnipo Beach is located on the northern coast of Yeongheungdo Island, featuring a unique area of fine sand and small pebbles with a total length of 1km and a width of 30m. To the west of the beach, a long stretch of oddly-shaped rocks and cliffs creates a spectacular view. Behind the beach, about 300 hornbeam trees (Sosa trees) grow naturally. As the largest hornbeam colony in Korea, it has been designated and managed as a protected tree by Incheon Metropolitan City since 1997. Sipnipo Beach offers picturesque scenery, water play facilities, a camping ground, and marine leisure sports experiences. It is a great place for family outings and attracts many tourists every year.
