Nanjung-ri Observatory is a small octagonal pavilion on the west side of Ganghwa Gyodong Island, offering views of North Korea. The observatory consists of two floors, with two telescopes available on the second floor. The straight-line distance from the observatory to North Korea is approximately 5.5 km, allowing visitors to use the telescopes to view the Haenam-ri area of Hwanghae Province, North Korea. The telescopes are free of charge. In front of the observatory, the Nanjung-ri Reservoir stretches out quite extensively, creating a scenic atmosphere along with the surrounding landscape. Nearby, the Sunflower Village Garden is located, making it a good spot to visit together.
