Why travelers stop here
The Korean Modern Literature Museum is the only public comprehensive literature museum in Korea, created by remodeling an old warehouse building near Incheon Port. It is a space where visitors can examine the formation and development of modern Korean literature at a glance and experience it in various ways, consisting of a permanent exhibition hall and a special exhibition hall. The permanent exhibition hall comprises four buildings utilizing warehouse structures built during the Japanese colonial period, and the space, previously used as a logistics warehouse and kimchi factory, was renovated and opened in 2013. The exhibition allows visitors to explore the history of modern Korean literature from 1894 to 1948 by period, and to understand the flow of modern literature through magazines, literary works, and related materials from that time.
