Why travelers stop here
Haedeun Museum is a private art museum that opened in 2013, located in a beautiful natural setting where education, culture, and art can be enjoyed together. It has strived to provide the public with opportunities to become familiar with contemporary art through curated exhibitions of collections by domestic and international artists such as Chagall, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, Nam June Paik, Kim Whanki, and Lee Ufan, as well as introducing the artistic worlds of Korean master artists. In addition to exhibitions, to fulfill its role in cultural production, it has newly established a 144-seat education hall capable of creative programs and lectures, alongside the existing 92-seat seminar room, and expanded educational programs. The museum's modern architecture, harmonizing with the splendid and beautiful nature of Ganghwa Island, also draws attention. The museum, with the concept of harmony and communication with nature, was selected as one of the <Best 7 Most Outstanding Buildings in Korea> awarded by the Korean Institute of Architects in 2013.
