Bukhansan Jokduribong Peak

서울특별시 은평구 진흥로 325 (불광동)

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Bukhansan, the guardian mountain of Seoul, spans across Eunpyeong-gu, Seongbuk-gu, Gangbuk-gu, Dobong-gu in Seoul, as well as Uijeongbu-si, Yangju-si, and Goyang-si in Gyeonggi Province. Its spectacular ridges, stretching from the highest peak Baegundae to Insubong in the east and Mangyeongdae in the south, attract hikers year-round. Jokduribong is a 370m high peak located at the southwesternmost part of Bukhansan. Its name comes from its shape resembling a jokduri (a traditional Korean bridal crown) when viewed from afar. It is also called Suribong (Eagle Peak) because it looks like an eagle's head, and Little Insubong because it resembles Insubong. Starting from Bulgwang Station, you can reach Jokduribong in about 50 minutes. Although the time is short, the difficulty is somewhat high. Caution is needed due to steep stairs and dangerous rock sections. Address: 325 Jinheung-ro, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (Bulgwang-dong)
