Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Cheoneunjeongsa (天恩精舍) is a temple founded on February 27, 1980, by Great Master Hyebodang Uhyang, and is a Seonhakwon temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The site was originally a famous mineral spring where many people visited for healing and prayers. Cheoneunjeongsa started as a tent temple and later, through the reconstruction efforts of the current abbot, Ven. Hyeonu, the main hall (Geungnakjeon) and Samseonggak were built.

Cheoneunjeongsa holds prayers on the first day of each month, full moon days, Jijang Jaeil, and Gwaneum Jaeil. Family services and children's services are held on Sundays. The abbot supports the establishment of a school in Myanmar with funds gathered from Sangnakwon, Borihoe Choir, and Mandeokdang within the temple grounds, and annually holds a senior citizens' banquet in Seongnam City, provides free lunch, and engages in sharing volunteer work, striving for urban propagation.
