Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Seonyurang, a mountain village in Goyang-si, is called Seoritgol in Korean and Seonyurang in Chinese characters, meaning a village where scholars stay. It is said that when Chinese envoys came to Hanyang in the past, they crossed the mountain behind the village, leading to the formation of this village. Some speculate that this place was once the site of a Goryeo market. As it is a mountain village, the 51st Battalion Ammunition Unit is located nearby, and houses and fields are scattered sparsely. However, in recent years, taking advantage of its proximity to Seoul and its well-preserved natural environment, various experiential activities are being held. Seasonal activities include red clay paddy field experience, sweet potato harvesting, picking wrap vegetables, and elk deer experience, and in winter, you can enjoy ice sledding.
