Why travelers stop here
Gongneungcheon Stream, located in Goyang-si, begins at the boundary between Deogyang-gu Goyang-dong, Sindodong, and Yangju-si Jangheung-myeon, and flows through Gansan-dong, Sarihyeon-dong, and Jiyeong-dong before meeting the Han River at Gyoha-myeon, Paju-si. It is named after Gongneung (Royal Tomb) in Paju Samneung. The surrounding sedimentary plains are used as flower complexes and rice paddies. This stream, flowing through Yangju-si, Goyang-si, and Paju-si in Gyeonggi-do, is a first-class tributary of the Han River. Walking along the sound of Gongneungcheon Stream, you can easily encounter winter migratory birds such as egrets and geese, as well as natural monuments like mandarin ducks and common mergansers.
