Why travelers stop here
Wondangheon is a gamjatang (pork bone soup) specialty restaurant that opened in 1992 and has been in operation ever since. It is a restaurant with a long tradition, selling only two menu items: gamjatang and ppyeo haejangguk (bone hangover soup). The broth is made by simmering pork backbones and uses doenjang (soybean paste) aged for 2 to 3 years. Basic side dishes include freshly made baechu kimchi (cabbage kimchi), kkakdugi (radish kimchi) aged for exactly one week, and fresh green chili peppers. All menu items are available for takeout, and the restaurant also sells its homemade ssamjang (dipping sauce) and kimchi for takeout.
