Yongdeoksa Temple is located on the western mid-slope of Seongnyunsan Mountain in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do. The name Yongdeoksa originates from a legend meaning 'seeing the virtue of a dragon,' and it is a temple founded by Seon Master Yeomgeo during the reign of King Munseong of the Silla Dynasty. The temple preserves structures such as Daeungbojeon (main hall), Beopdang (dharma hall), Beomjonggak (bell pavilion), and Geungnakjeon (hall of paradise), as well as artifacts including a stone standing Buddha and a three-story stone pagoda. Additionally, Yonggul Cave, located behind Yongdeoksa Temple, is associated with a legend of a dragon attempting to ascend to heaven, and it is a place where many people visit to make wishes.
