Noryangjin Cupbap Street

서울특별시 동작구 노량진로 174 (노량진동)

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Noryangjin Cupbap Street is a street lined with cupbap (rice in a cup) food stalls, known as a landmark of Noryangjin. Cupbap is one of the street foods developed by the food stalls standing in a row in the Noryangjin hagwon (cram school) district of Dongjak-gu, created with consideration for students preparing for exams who are on a tight budget. Initially called 'pocha-bap' (rice from a food stall), the term 'cupbap' came into full use around 2011. It is a meal consisting of kimchi fried rice placed in a disposable container, topped with various toppings such as eggs, sausages, ham, and tuna, and can be enjoyed at an average price of 4,000 to 5,000 won with a choice of toppings. In 2018, the Dongjak-gu Office installed information boards for the convenience of tourists and citizens visiting Cupbap Street, and later created rest areas between the stalls to allow people to enjoy cupbap comfortably. In addition to cupbap, there are food stalls offering snacks, rice noodles, hot dogs, waffles, and more, allowing visitors to enjoy a variety of street foods while walking around. Address: 174, Noryangjin-ro, Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Noryangjin-dong)
